How to Eat a Rambutan

I bought some Rambutan this afternoon.  Six of them cost me 7.25 baht, or 24 cents.

This strange-looking fruit looks intimidating, but after you push through the hard red exterior, it is easy to pull off the rest of the covering.

What is left at the end is a white, translucent, egg shaped center.  It tastes like a mango and has the consistency of a grape.  It does have a pit though, so you should bite down slowly around it.
