Day Nine: Taking it Easy

Today we had class at 8.  We talked about how Thais eat and Ladyboys.  Our assignment for the weekend is to go to a bar or nightclub.  It's a tough field school, but somebody had to do it.

When I came back to my room, I found a basket of the laundry I dropped off downstairs two days ago.  It was neatly folded with a note on top telling me that 20 baht (66 cents) will be added to my rent bill for the service.

We set out to grab some lunch where I got the omelet two days ago.  I got the omelet again and it was great again.  This time I consumed two bottles of water and my bill was a staggering 60 baht ($2 US).  We set out for the Dusit Zoo after this.  The Chitralada Palace is right across the street.

I went into the zoo for a few minutes, took this picture of elephants, and started feeling queasy.

I sat down but did not feel any better.  I took a cab back to VP Tower and rested for a while.  Later I went down to Bill's room to chat.  We talked about nightclub drug raids and the police here and in America.  We also talked about the red light district, rugby, and Australian rules football.

Later I went to eat with Rachael at Sea son ing.  It is right across Rang Nam and has a wide variety of food.  I ordered nachos, pad thai, and Thai iced tea.  I forgot my camera.  It was very good.

Tomorrow morning we leave here at 6:30 to go zip-lining in a forest near Chon Buri.
